The digital revolution has required us to re-invent children’s media. Kids content takes more forms than ever before – from storybooks to games to video, and apps that combine elements of all three. And this content can be accessed through more platforms than ever before.
This revolution has huge potential. But like every new opportunity, there are issues to consider that should concern us all. We’ve seen negative press coverage of many aspects of digitalization – from concerns that children are only ever ‘three clicks away from explicit material’ to the gathering storm over in-app payment.
This session will consider how we as an industry can positively and pro-actively address some of these issues. What is good practice for digital content creation? Do we need new standards and who should create them? And what more do we need to be doing to inform and educate parents? With session participants from across the global TV, gaming and education industries, we’ll be seeking answers to these critical questions…
