Have your kids (or polite nephews and nieces) laughed occasionally at your material and told you how great your ideas are…?

But how do you really know whether your idea, programme, game or story is one that lots of kids will love? Come to this workshop to find out how to work in a meaningful way with children so that you can build your project and so that the children themselves can feel part of the creative process. Experts, including writers, user-researchers and theatre producers, will share their experiences of working with kids to make lasting and successful IP.

Collaborating with Kids is for writers, animators, producers (development, TV, digital) and anyone making content for kids from pre-school to teens.

The workshop will be led by Olivia Dickinson and Jon Spooner. Olivia has over 12 years’ experience creating and testing digital content for children, having worked at Amazon, the BBC and Nickelodeon.  They will be joined by a variety of experts who have worked with kids on developing IP in various sectors including books, theatre and interactive media, and a group of kids from Sheffield who’ll share the creative process on the day.
