In this Keynote interview, Konnie Huq discusses her three decades as a presenter and writer – her experiences, her inspirations, and what she cares about most when it comes to kids and media.

Having started her TV career aged just 16, Konnie Huq has been presenting and writing about the world to children ever since. On screen, she became Blue Peter’s longest-serving female presenter, with more than a decade of audiences following her discoveries, her travels, and her sticky-backed plastic miracle makes. More recently, she’s turned to storytelling, with screenwriting credits including co-writing for ‘Black Mirror’.

In 2019, the first of her ‘Cookie’ book series – ‘Cookie and the Most Annoying Boy in the World’ – was published, the main character being inspired by Konnie’s own London/Bangladeshi background and her love of science and being a bit nerdy. She has also co-written ‘Fearless Fairy Tales’, a compendium of traditional tales updated for the 21st century. ‘Cookie and the Most Annoying Girl in the World’ was published in paperback in February 2021 and a third adventure, ‘Cookie and the Most Mysterious Mystery in the World’ will be out in September.

As her ‘Cookie’ books are now in development as a TV series with Zodiak Kids, this Keynote interview will explore her most memorable career experiences, her inspirations, and what she cares about most when it comes to kids and media.

Join Konnie for multiple perspectives as presenter, performer, screenwriter, author and mother – on kids’ media current and future.
