How can media help children and their families to stay healthy? From understanding how their bodies work, coping with illness, learning about health and fitness, or improving their medical experiences; worthy doesn’t have to be boring and a dose of media medicine can be just what doctor ordered.
In this session we look at four innovative ways in which we can support children’s health. As well as big-brand, health-themed TV programming, we look at cutting edge VR, a real-world teddy bear hospital, and some pioneering digital games. Through these examples we’ll be exploring how media can make a difference to children’s lives, helping them to learn about how their bodies work, and to reassure them when faced with a hospital experience.
