In June 1994, Disney released the Academy-Award winning animated classic, ‘The Lion King’ – an unforgettable story that would ultimately extend way beyond the cinema screen.

Two decades later, Ford Riley was tasked with bringing this unforgettable story to a new generation and the series he produced, ‘The Lion Guard’, has proved a worldwide smash hit and highest rated show on Disney Junior in the UK for nearly ten years.

Set in the African savanna, ‘The Lion Guard’ introduces Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala who is destined to become leader of the Lion Guard, a team of animals comprised of the Pride Lands’ fiercest, bravest, fastest, strongest and keenest of sight. Many of the beloved characters from ‘The Lion King’ return, including Mufasa and Pumbaa.

In this masterclass session, Ford will explain how he brought the iconic Disney property to the small screen.

This session begins with a presentation by Changemaker Kate Wilson, Managing Director, Nosy Crow Publishing.
