In this session we examine case studies to find out how stepping outside the normal remit gains organisations loyalty with the audience and respect from parents. With projects as diverse as the hugely successful Moshi Monsters from Mind Candy and The Olive Branch from Little Airplane’s Little Light Foundation – but all in some way with their the focus on the conference theme: “How can children’s media make an impact on kids’ lives?”

Every element of children’s media attempts to make an impact, both on the audience and the industry. This session explore how a number of companies are going the extra mile on behalf of their audience and trying to give a little back, by genuinely supporting the community, offering advice, and empowering children to help themselves. Has social networking found a purpose which goes beyond simply accruing friendships?
