This session is for storytellers, content creators, experience designers and commissioners. It questions whether we are overloading kids with content, making the answers too easy, and in so doing, depriving them of the opportunity to discover, form their own conclusions and nurture their imagination.

Ever bought a child an exciting gift, in a colourful vibrant box only to find that they’re more engaged with making a ‘spaceship’ from the box rather than play with the expensive gift, now discarded to the side?

Stones in Their Pockets looks at the fundamentals of play and how children will play with objects in ways that are different to what we as adults expect; but also how a child’s imagination is fuelled and influenced by natural materials in their environment.
