The safety of kids and young people online is a vital business issue for the future delivery of everyone’s content. With exponentially expanding content, many online platforms increasingly rely on automated algorithms to make decisions about what is and isn’t shown to children and young people.
How do we balance commercial objectives with providing appropriate and responsible digital entertainment? What can publishers, creators, parents and social media giants do to build trust, and ensure that ads and algorithms safely serve children? And if they don’t get their houses in order, what will governments, with increasing public support, put in place to protect the younger audience?
