As an audacious, provocative alternative to the world’s attempts to sexualise and commodify childhood for profit, award-winning performance artist Bryony Kimmings and her 9 year-old niece Taylor decided to take on the global tween machine.

They invented Catherine Bennett; a dinosaur loving, bike riding, tuna-pasta eating alternative pop star and vowed to make her world famous.

Taylor is CB’s manager, Bryony plays her and with the help of Girls Aloud make-up artists, ID magazine stylists and prolific pop producers they are spending their summer trying to change the world for the better!

Working to Taylor’s brief, CB takes time out from her working life as a museum assistant who loves dinosaurs and cycles everywhere, to sing catchy electro-pop songs about polar bears, friendships, animals and being happy.

CB has already debuted on the live stage and is going on a tour of schools, where she asks pupils what kind of pop star they would like to see.  Taylor introduced CB on stage recently at Yoko Ono’s Meltdown South Bank festival.
