The Fall and Rise of British Comics
Wednesday 5th July 2017, 15:40 - 16:40
Showroom Cinema 2Read session report
Where once a wide variety of different kids’ comics graced the shelves of newsagents, nowadays they seem in short supply. But there are still British successes; titles that continue to thrive and survive. This session will turn the page on modern kids’ comics, how we got here, and where we go next. We’ll look at the classic characters that have jumped into film and TV; the new methods of distribution to get comics into kids’ hands; and the independent creators who are putting out their own material. With insight from industry experts, we’ll look at what the future holds for British kids’ comics.
