Zippy is overwhelmingly the most famous character from iconic British children’s TV series ‘Rainbow’. Retaining a cult following to this day for his unique voice and hilarious antics during the show’s run, Zippy always had to be the centre of attention, claiming to be the best at whatever was being discussed alongside his co-stars George, Bungle and Geoffrey. He loved to eat sweets, sing songs and tell his favourite jokes. Originally voiced by Peter Hawkins and later Roy Skelton, Zippy has been part of the TV landscape for 45 years and still to this day makes regular appearances on screen including ‘Children in Need’, ‘Celebrity Juice’, ‘The Nightly Show’ and ‘The Keith and Paddy Picture Show’. Zippy is currently portrayed by Ronnie Le Drew.
