Multi Award winner, Vanessa Amberleigh began her career as a performer working in Children’s Theatre and as a regular presenter on BBC’s ‘Playdays – The Patch Stop’. She then went behind camera to work for most of the major broadcasters in the UK (Disney, Nickelodeon, BBC, Channel 5 & Channel 4) and a wide variety of Indies.
Vanessa has worked across multiple genre from animation and puppetry to comedy, factual and drama. She has a passion for writing and has written for many award winning series as well as script editing, and is presently penning her 3rd screenplay.
She is currently Genre Lead for Preschool at BBC Children’s In House Productions which includes exec-ing new and returning series, overseeing CBeebies Arts productions, all Justin
Fletcher titles and was the initial Exec on ‘JoJo & Gran Gran’. Her role also involves Brand supervision which includes sign-offs for Live Events and CBeebiesland Hotel, as well as managing the strategy for producing multi-platform content for the youngest audience.
Vanessa is a regular speaker at CMC, Prix Jeunesse, BBC Writersroom, Winchester Writer’s Festival and guest lecturer on MA creative writing courses.
She is an active member of BAFTA, RTS, WF&TV and sits on the Children’s Board for EBU as Vice Chair.
Vanessa is a keen runner and qualified fitness/yoga instructor.
