After gaining a Masters degree from RADA and Kings College, Ruth joined the Kings Head Theatre as an Assistant Director. Then, after a short stint producing corporate videos and events she joined Channel 4’s animation department and was soon promoted to Assistant Editor, Animation & Arts where she remained for 5 years. In 2002 Ruth left Channel 4 to set up TV production company Lupus Films with her friend and colleague Camilla Deakin, where she is joint managing director. In their second year of business, Lupus’ productions were nominated for 4 British Animation Awards. Through Lupus Films Ruth has produced animation and live-action shows for the BBC, Five, UKTV, Channel 4, ITV and Disney. She was the Producer of a 52 part CGI re-make of children’s classic ‘The Pinky & Perky Show’ for the BBC and France 3 and Executive Producer on Lupus’ most recent series for Disney, ‘The Hive’. She is currently producing a pilot for a new pre-school animation series as well as commissioning films for Random Acts, in addition to producing on the new ‘Snowman’ sequel for Channel 4.
