Digital Media Consultant
Sheffield born, Russell Wall is a digital media consultant and commercial filmmaker, who has documented educational initiatives by local authorities and grass roots community organisations across the region. He has served as a consultant for the National Media Museum in Bradford, developing multimedia presentations and installations celebrating British Filmmakers including Stan Laurel, Christopher Lee, Stanley Baker and Ken Annakin. Since 2005, Russell has designed and delivered the digital media curriculum in the Yorkshire and Humber region for the Workers’ Educational Association, exploring the synergy between new and emerging Web 2.0 digital technologies, film, television production and sequential art techniques. Last year, Russell supported the development of the initial Stan Lee Excelsior Awards for Comics and Manga in association with the Stan Lee Foundation and Ecclesall School in Sheffield. In 2012, this initiative has engaged with over 7,000 children and young people across the UK and the Irish Republic, assisting in the development of students’ media, literacy and language skills.
