TV Presenter and Performer
Pui began acting on Children’s TV aged 13. After training at LAMDA, she worked in many TV, film, radio and theatre productions, and wrote and performed her own one-woman show ‘Short, Fat, Ugly and Chinese’, which won the ‘Race in the Media’ award for its BBC Radio adaptation. After many years spent running over the hills and far away as one of the original ‘Teletubbies’, Pui became one of the very first presenters to be broadcast on CBeebies, at the launch of BBC’s digital channelling platform. Together with Chris Jarvis, she created and presented six series of ‘Show Me Show Me’, also appearing in the many CBeebies Christmas shows and Shakespeare specials. They also devised the multi-award-winning ‘Old Jack’s Boat’ starring Bernard Cribbins. This year, Chris and Pui will be continuing their work for BAFTA Kids and charity Place2Be.
Other work includes, Assistant Producer on ‘Little Screen’ – cinema for pre-schoolers by Pinewood Live and Associate Producer and co-writer for ‘Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun’ which was premiered in UK cinemas earlier this year. Pui is currently writing and developing a brand new project. As a forty-something, Mum of two, Pui watched Paddington Bear and The Clangers the first time around and celebrates the exciting re mounting of these popular classics.
