Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller, ITV2, ITVBe & CITV
Paul Mortimer is currently the Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller, ITV2, ITVBe & CITV. He joined ITV as the Controller of Digital Channels in 2012.
As well as overseeing the Network’s younger-targeted channel brands- ITV2, ITVBe and CITV, Paul also heads ITV’s Programme Acquisitions team and recently formed the Reality Commissioning department, responsible for series such as ‘Love Island’ and ‘TOWIE’.
Under Paul’s leadership, ITV2 has become the market leader for young adults, driven by shows such as ‘The Cabins’, ‘Family Guy’ and, of course, ‘Love Island’. Paul’s other commissions include ‘The Emily Atack Show’, ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’ and ‘Buffering” for ITV2, ‘Olivia Meets Her Match’ ‘and ‘The Real Housewives’ franchise for ITVBe, and ‘The Rubbish World of Dave Spud’ and ‘HOW’ for CITV.
Before joining ITV, Paul spent five years at Channel 4, becoming the Head of E4. He has also worked for the Discovery Channel as well as Channel 5 but began his career at the ITV Network Centre in 1994.
