Neil is a writer in TV, games, interactive and novels. After working as a story-exec and producer in movies and TV drama, he started writing in the mid-90’s, scripting children’s TV (from pre-school series to teen comedy and sci-fi to education drama). He has also created the story and script for over 20 games: titles such as ‘Starship Titanic’ (with Douglas Adams), ‘Just Cause’, ‘The da Vinci Code’, the ‘Broken Sword’ series, and brands such as ‘Pokemon’ and ‘Sonic’.

In recent years he has had 3 BAFTA nominations, a Writers’ Guild nomination and an IGDA Writing Excellence nomination for his game, TV and education scripts. He developed the scripts for the 2012 BAFTA-nominated ‘Tree-fu Tom interactive’, and co-created the 2012 Children’s Interactive BAFTA winner ‘Nightmare High’ for Channel 4.

Just completed are ‘Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse’, episodes of ‘Boj’ for CBeebies/Pesky, a role as transmedia consultant on teen series ‘Nowhere Boys’ for Matchbox/ABC, and a YA novel for Loud & Clear Melbourne. He is currently writing ‘Cherringham’, a series of 12 crime novellas for Bastei Germany.

Neil is an advisory committee member of The Children’s Media Conference, a BAFTA member, a founding member of Storylab and was for some years a Senior Lecturer in Screenwriting at Bournemouth University.
