After nearly five years working both on and off air in local radio, Matt joined CITV in 2008 as a Presentation Scheduler. After a short stint working in the promotions team, he was tasked with setting up a Media Planning operation for the channel which he led for two years.
In April 2011, he took over scheduling for CITV and over the next decade was involved with key titles such as ‘Scrambled!’ and ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ and led the 30th Anniversary Old Skool Weekend, acting as consultant on the accompanying documentary which aired on ITV. He was instrumental in bringing hit animation ‘The Rubbish World of Dave Spud’ to the channel and also acted as commissioner on ‘Mission Employable’ and ‘Dare Master’ produced entirely in Sign Language by Signpost Productions. In 2018, he was part of the team to launch new pre-school block littleBe on ITVBe.
After leaving ITV in February 2021, he joined Jetpack Distribution as their Acquisitions Coordinator tasked with managing the incoming submissions to the company and working across titles on Jetpack’s development slate.
Outside of work, Matt’s a keen writer having been part of the Woodham Scribblers writing group since they formed in 2002, self-publishing a short Novella for Kindle in 2015. He’s also been involved in awareness campaigns for Access Social Care & SIBs using his personal experience of growing up with a disabled brother.
