Magic Light Pictures is an award winning brand-building and production company. We produce films, TV and games as well as directly managing licensing, global distribution and marketing. We want everything we do to be of the highest quality, with integrity and creativity at its heart.
Our key brand is ‘The Gruffalo’, from the best-selling picture books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. We produced the Oscar and BAFTA-nominated half-hour animated films, ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’, and have sold them to over 80 broadcasters worldwide. We also run a cross-category international merchandising programme with over 40 licensees and 300 products which capture the charm of the original books.
In 2012, we introduced our new brand, ‘Room on the Broom’ – based on another best-selling book by Donaldson and Scheffler – with a BAFTA winning half-hour animated film and a growing range of merchandise.
