Juliet Matthews has worked in the publishing world for over twenty years. She headed up BBC Children’s Books and the Media & Entertainment list at Penguin Random House (during the reign of the mighty ‘Peppa Pig’), working closely with Penguin Ventures on broader brand relationships. She is currently interim Publishing Director, Media and Brands, at Harper Collins Children’s Books where she is guardian of Bing Bunny and Paddington Bear amongst others.
Juliet has experience working on both sides of the licensing fence. She started her career in magazine publishing and established a book publishing division at IPC Magazines, where she licensed iconic brands such as Ideal Home, Country Life and Loaded to book publishing partners. She also now works as a publishing consultant with Endemol Shine Ltd on some of their adult brands including ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Master Chef’.
