Jon is a writer, director and the founder and Creative Director of Unlimited Theatre with whom he creates new stories and adventures for live performance, digital and broadcast. Jon specialises in collaborating with scientists to communicate leading edge developments in their fields for a family audience, particularly through the Unlimited Space Agency whose patron is the British astronaut Tim Peake.
Current partners include the European and UK Space Agencies to create an online, interactive project for children aged 7-11 telling the story of Tim’s mission to the International Space Station. Back on Earth, Jon continues to work with CBeebies to write and direct the channel’s flagship Christmas show which is even more fun than working with astronauts. He also creates live performance for adult audiences that tours extensively in the UK and Europe, performance installations for museums and galleries.
Making a Difference: Cultural Connections
Early engagement with the arts has a proven positive impact on young people: raising aspirations, increasing confidence, improving communication skills and unlocking creativity. So how can we extend the reach to children with limited access to the arts? This session begins with a presentation by Changemakers Will & Cara Jessop, Founders of accessible games design studio Enabling Play.
