John Kent

Executive Producer, Interactive, CBeebies

John’s a producer who specialises in multiplatform projects. His media career began in radio, researching and reporting on children’s and school’s programmes for the original Radio 5. In 1996 he moved to the BBC’s science department and worked on popular formats like Tomorrow’s World, and became one of the original producers on the BBC’s then-fledgling web site. In 2001 he moved wholeheartedly into interactive production and joined BBC Interactive Factual and Learning. There he led projects ranging from lifestyle features to participative science on TV, web, red button, mobile and outreach events, and developed a sideline as a trainer and mentor for multiplatfiorm production training . In the last year John has moved back to Children’s output – working initially in CBBC on web and interactive TV projects. and more recently as Exec Producer for CBeebies’ interactive activities.

John is a member of the CMC Blogging Team and will be reporting the Conference as it happens.
