Jayne Kirkham is a freelance writer, part time lecturer at the Northern Film School and on behalf of the Children’s Media Foundation, she is clerk to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Children’s Media and the Arts. Recent writing commissions include episodes of Bing Bunny on CBeebies, a feature length adaptation of the Bowerbird novels, a selection of poetry and a short story about Remembrance Day for CBeebies radio. She is currently writing a film for and about children caught in the human-elephant conflict in Africa and China as part of an international elephant conservation project. She is still buzzing from a research trip to Tanzania, away from the safari trails where an elephant sneezed all over her. It is hoped that ‘buzzing’ doesn’t mean she still hasn’t washed by the time she gets to Sheffield.
