The Beano & Adaptations of Literature
One of the zaniest comics artists in the country, if not the world, Hunt Emerson has a panache for comedy timing and elasticated brushstrokes. These perfectly suit his freewheeling graphic novelisations of such literary classics as The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Dante’s Inferno – Hell’s triple-headed hound Cerberus has never looked more insane or disturbing. For the last ten years, Hunt has also regularly contributed ‘Little Plum’ and ‘Ratz’ to The Beano and been active in British and international initiatives encouraging young people to read and create comics.
