Hugh is Commissioning Exec for fact-ent and entertainment series at CBBC working to Controller Cheryl Taylor. His career began in production at Nickelodeon and as well as working in BBC Factual and BBC Children’s has included stints at Disney, Viacom, Whereits.at, Princess and Channel X. He works closely with independents to commission and deliver ambitious, ground-breaking and memorable brands that both surprise and entertain. Recent successes include Junior Bake Off; Help My Supply Teacher is Magic; Matilda and The Ramsay Bunch; School For Stars; CBBC Official Chart Show; Junior MasterChef; The Joke Machine; Richard Hammond’s Miracles of Nature; Art Ninja; Brain Freeze; CBBC @ Radio 1’s Teen Awards; Ultimate Brain and CINEMANIACS. Just as our viewers move from platform to platform, all our brands must be able to exist across TV, web, iplayer and YouTube. As well as beautifully crafted and award-winning concepts that complement our existing slate I am always looking the idea I simply wasn’t expecting and that explodes the TV rule book.
