Helen Blakeman

A BAFTA and International Emmy Award winning writer, both of which Helen received for her adaptation of Dustbin Baby starring Juliet Stevenson. She also wrote the much-acclaimed and controversial film Pleasureland (BAFTA, RTS nomination) and has scripted numerous episodes of Hollyoaks.

Her plays include ‘Caravan’ (George Devine Award), ‘Normal’ (Pearson Playwright Award) and ‘The Morris’. Helen is under commission to the Royal Court Theatre and National Theatre Studio.

Helen is lead writer on the new CBBC show ‘Hetty Feather’, adapted from the Jacqueline Wilson novel, and has just completed development on a feature-length family movie for Kindle Entertainment.
