I’m Faye Cunningham and I’m 14-years-old. I love talking to people and became interested in this Young Scientists Project exploring representation in Children’s TV because I love making change. Another reason I became involved, was that I’m a queer teenager coming from a blended family. Meeting people from the Irish Animation Industry during our Young Scientist Project coming from similar backgrounds, who I would never be able to meet regularly, was an incredible experience. I live with my Mum and Gran on the Northside of Dublin and pushing for a variety of families on children’s screens was a driving force for me. Having diversity onscreen as I grew up definitely helped me with my identity and I’m so glad I was able highlight this issue.
