David Hodgson
Pesky
Director

David is the co-founder of UK animation studio Pesky, the creator of ground-breaking interactive cartoons and TV comedy across three decades. He continues to work up new shows, features and formats across multiple genres and mixed media. He also now consults as a freelance development executive, producer-for-hire and script adviser. David won a BAFTA as series producer of multi-award winning ‘The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers!’ for CITV/YTV/Cartoon Network, the show which proved beyond doubt that the UK can deliver animated kids comedy! Other TV credits include: co-creator ‘Invisible INK’ for FranceTV/SuperRTL; co-creator/series producer ‘Boj’ for CBeebies/S4C/RTE/Sprout/ABC; and associate producer with Beakus on ‘Olobob Top’ for CBeebies.
I have taken projects from pitch to production and beyond, raising millions in finance, managing every aspect of the creative process (including script and voice direction), overseeing co-producer and distribution relationships, and in the case of Boj, devising a successful licensing campaign (see “Giggly Park”, a unique Boj-themed visitor attraction at a major UK zoo, launched in 2017).
I am increasingly now working with emerging talent and fellow creative producers and production companies to help their projects find and resonate with audiences. I love to bring the best out of teams, as leader or contributor, am open to both long and short-term collaborations, and willing to work across a variety of setups to get the job done!
