Christopher Skala

Senior Vice President, Programming & TV Sales

Christopher Skala has more than 17 years of experience in television production and development. At Guinness World Records, his responsibilities include original format productions in over 20 territories, new global TV strategy, and a sales content library worth more than £1m per year. At HIT Entertainment, his responsibilities included overseeing the creative and production for the company’s portfolio of classic pre-school brands including Bob the Builder™, Fireman Sam™, Pingu™, Rainbow Magic™ and Thomas & Friends™, all of which were creatively evolved and re-launched successfully and profitably under his leadership.

In addition, Christopher led HIT Entertainment’s new content creation and development. He developed and secured funding for HIT’s first new content launch in over 8 years, with Mike the Knight (CBeebies/Treehouse/TF1).

Previously, Chrsitopher was a Senior Producer at Tiger Aspect Television for seven years, first in the Comedy Department and then, from 2001 in the newly created Children’s and Animation Department. It was in this role that he optioned and developed Charlie and Lola (CBeebies) and co-created Me and My Monsters (CBBC). Before that, he was a director and shareholder in Humphrey Barclay Productions, a boutique sitcom independent production company. He started his career in television in 1992.

He has a BA in English Literature from Yale University in Connecticut.
