Chella is a Sheffield-based comedian, artist, writer, and presenter, is the UK’s leading expert on menstruation education. A former drama teacher and head of PSHE, Chella coined the phrase ‘period positive’ and founded #periodpositive to use humour and joy to challenge taboos, offering long-term solutions to period poverty. Her 5-star comedy show, Adventures in Menstruating, has wowed at festivals, and has been featured on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and A Bleeding Shame. Chella frequently writes for national and international print media and delivers training for organisations serving young people around the UK. She now advises on regional and national menstruation education and period poverty policy and, through #periodpositive, developed the Period Positive Charter Mark.
