Catherine Johnston
Let Toys Be Toys
Campaigner

Catherine Johnston, a former teacher, is a parent and campaigner for Let Toys Be Toys. Since the launch of this grassroots campaign five years ago, 14 major retailers and 10 publishers have agreed to remove ‘for boys’ and ‘for girls’ signs and labels from their toy aisles and books. The campaign continues to ask manufacturers, advertisers, retailers and publishers not to limit children’s imaginations and future choices by suggesting only certain toys or books are meant for them.
