Carla De Jong

Executive in Charge of Production and Development, Children's and Youth Programming

Carla is responsible for overseeing the development, production and daily management of Children’s programmes, both commissioned and in house for Canada’s public broadcaster. Prior to her current role, Carla was Head of Commissioning and Development of Children’s Content for Australia’s public broadcaster, ABC. In this role, Carla was responsible for overseeing all production, development and commissioning of original content for children of all ages across three ABC channels, including ABC3 the dedicated children’s channel.
Before joining the ABC, Carla spent two years at the BBC in London developing new programs for the BBC Children’s department and prior to this produced a number of award winning children’s programmes for Network Ten in Australia including Totally Wild and SCOPE. Her work has been recognised both locally and internationally in awards such as the Logies, AFI Awards, Kidscreen Awards, The Prix Jeunesse Awards and The United Nations World Environment Day Awards, the YMA Awards and the BANFF World Media Awards.
