Teddy Bear Hospital Society
Alisha is currently a fourth-year medical student at the University of Sheffield. She has been passionate about working with children from the first year of University, which is when she joined Teddy Bear Hospital as a volunteer. Through this society, they have run events for children in different areas of Sheffield, teaching them about healthy living and helping to reduce their anxiety towards visiting the doctor, as well as their main event which attracts over 300 children annually. Alisha has been on the committee for Teddy Bear Hospital for the past two years, as the Volunteers’ Coordinator and Secretary. She has newly been elected as President for the upcoming year through which she hopes they can reach out to children from more socio-economically deprived areas in Sheffield who may benefit the most from the teaching they can provide to them.
