Senior Director and Network Head
Abhishek Dutta is the South Asia Network Head for Cartoon Network and POGO, WarnerMedia, spearheading programming, operations, acquisitions and promotions, and the content direction for both brands. Abhishek has driven Cartoon Network and POGO to leading positions by creating and delivering best content for kids and families in India, through his insights in data mining and persistent modernising of strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
At WarnerMedia India, he continues to successfully bring international content for fans on Cartoon Network HD+, lead its localisation on Cartoon Network, while also transforming POGO into the top destination for 100% homegrown animation content.
His career also includes stints at prominent media channels like ALT Balaji, Discovery Networks India and Viacom18 where Abhishek donned various roles including channel management, content development, and animation development. Besides his creative and programming skills, Abhishek also represents expertise in technical skills like sound recording, voicing, music mixing and editing. With more than two decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Abhishek has been a part of four successful TV channel launches as well as a digital platform focussing on kids in India, including Nickelodeon, Sonic, Nick jr. and Nick HD+.
The media veteran has also been associated with more than 15 homegrown animated shows and more than 30 full length animated television movies including a theatrical film to date, creating new benchmarks in the animation Industry. He is also responsible for ideation, dubbing and addition of local ‘thought-over commentaries’ to iconic silent comedies to bringthem closer to fans, creating entirely new trend in the global animation industry and a new consumer experience.
The shows curated and created by Abhishek have added to Cartoon Network and POGO’s strong portfolio and reached a wider kids audience.
