What is children’s content’s place in a more competitive and dynamic streaming landscape?

The volume of original commissions releasing on SVoD hit an all-time high in the last two (complete) quarters. Children’s content remains a core content area for all SVoD players and is clearly essential to attract subscribers as part of a broader content mix. However, almost all the global SVoD players have reduced the share of catalogue and original commissions accounted for by children’s content as the SVoD content catalogues have become ever more focused on what works to drive and retain subscriber numbers. Who are the SVoDs targeting with their catalogue? What types of content is key to them? And how is this being reflected in original kids commissions?
