From burps and body odour to puberty and poo, identical twins Dr Chris and Dr Xand van Tulleken, and Dr Ronx dissect CBBC’s medical series, Operation Ouch!
In this year’s Keynote Interview, ‘Newsround’ reporter Ricky Boleto is joined by identical twins, Dr Chris and Dr Xand van Tulleken, and Dr Ronx Ikharia to celebrate a decade of the award-winning CBBC medical series, Operation Ouch!
As the series marks its 10th birthday, the three doctors divulge the secrets to its success, pushing the boundaries of gross and gore on children’s television, and their commitment to inspiring a new generation of medical professionals.
From sneezes and snot to burping and body odour to puberty and poo, the series has been educating and entertaining young audiences with its mix of humour, graphic footage of medical procedures and messy super-sized experiments. In this revealing interview, the trio of energetic Doctors reflect on the series and share their views about the importance of demystifying hospitals for younger viewers.
Later this year, we’ll see the doctors tackle an important aspect of sex education, child birth, in an Operation Ouch special called “How are babies made?”
