Read VoD preview

Often misunderstood, Manga is a medium bursting with convention breaking characters and diverse storylines. It is capable of speaking to a new generation of passionate young creatives eager to consume content that relates to their lives and experiences.

In this session, we go beyond its stereotypes to discover how and why Manga resonates with young people looking for inclusive experiences and character traits not often found in western children’s media.

Nigel Twumasi is the co-founder of the British Manga brand mayamada. In this video he highlights his relationship with Manga; how it has shaped the content he produces, and the impact it has had on the young fans of the mayamada universe whether online, at conventions or in creative workshop sessions – with contributions from Manga supporters and analysis of what makes Manga the inclusive experience that it has become.
