Internationalisation Fund Grants

The Department for International Trade is making Internationalisation Fund Grants available to SMEs and freelancers attending Kidscreen Summit in Miami and other markets.

The budget for these Grants is finite and limited so you are advised to apply as soon as possible. Applicants need to be based in England (apart from Cornwall and Scilly Isles which has a separate scheme).  For funding in other nations contact Business Wales, Invest Northern Ireland or Scottish Enterprise.

This is the process:

To apply:

  1. To apply for the Internationalisation Fund Grant contact your local trade office to speak to your regional international trade advisor. Find your local trade office.
  2. Once you have contacted your local office they will talk you through what you need to do and provide you with the online application.
  3. When completing the online application form as a back up save a copy of your answers on a separate Word or Google document as you go.
  4. Once assessed by the DIT team if you are considered eligible you will be contacted by a DIT Trade Advisor to arrange a one-to-one meeting.
  5. The DIT Trade Advisor will provide advice and support for your application and if appropriate, help you draft an Export Action Plan.
  6. The online application will take around 30 minutes.

Export Action Plan (EAP)

Your EAP will outline the growth opportunities and challenges for your business, and is a mandatory requirement for your Internationalisation Fund application.  Your EAP will be discussed during your one-to-one meeting with your ITA, who will provide you with advice and help. We recommend you start drafting your EAP prior to meeting your ITA.  Download the EAP template
