CMC empowering students

Among the many volunteers who make the CMC possible are around 50 students, whom the CMC is committed to helping in return for their time. They have their own briefing session on Tuesday with key industry figures giving information on how to get into the variety of sectors within children's media. Also this year every student volunteer will be given their own set of business cards. So if you are approached by one of the students wanting to network please take some time to offer advice. A novel idea…

Christina Boonstra blogs for a second year, this time with a novel in progress. A lot to learn. I’m truly excited to get knee deep in blogs once again. Last year I was a fresh faced graduate with little to no plan as to how the year was going to pan out, and if I'm being honest, there still isn't much of a plan. This year has been a roller coaster ride of mundane and adventure all rolled into one. One adventure I took on was to attempt to write a 50,000 word novel...in a month. CMC 2012: Making vegetables talk!

I’m Jon Hancock – I’ll be blogging at this year’s CMC. Your emergency exits are ... Hmm, maybe not. I’ve been at the Beeb for 12 years – working my way up the ranks within the Children’s department across CBBC and CBeebies. Now at the dizzying height of Series Producer, I’ve been spending the last couple of years making vegetables talk in the joyously bunting-tastic Mr Bloom’s Nursery. It’s a hoot to make – wonderful team, and I don’t care what you say, Ben Faulks (Mr Bloom himself) is the nicest bloke in telly. That Mumsnet readers find him the tinciest bit attractive isn’t something that I’m going to exploit TOO much this summer as we film the new series…
