Do you listen to podcasts? If so, you are definitely not alone. Podcasts are perfectly packaged parcels of audio covering a range of subjects and genres, that you can listen to whenever you like and wherever you like. They can be consumed wherever you go – a world of on-demand audio that many of us are falling in love with. The upward trend for podcast listening is now being passed to our children, who are happily absorbing podcasts on car journeys, as part of daily school life, or sitting at the kitchen table doodling on scrap paper whilst the other half of their brain is engaged in a gripping sonic tale. Podcasts are undoubtedly on their way up.
In a world of amazing graphics, beautiful cinematography, painstaking stop-motion and games on children’s tablets, what exactly is it that makes the humble podcast so attractive to children? Come and hear what the panel have to say, listen to some of the brilliant & award-winning content that is out there, hear thoughts about the future of children’s audio, and ask questions – the positive movement in this area of children’s media is very real, and it’s happening right now.
