Extended Deadline for the Financing Forum for Kids’ Content
CMC supports this EU-funded initiative which will take place in Malmö, Sweden, from 10-12 March 2015.
If you’re a producer based in the UK with a children’s media project looking for financing and co-production partners, it’s worth taking a special look at The Financing Forum for Kids Content. By applying now, you could take your project to Malmö and pitch it to over 50 international financiers and experts, and 150 producers and distributors, followed by a series of one-to-one meetings.
Around 20-30 projects in development are pitched during the three day event.
There are also information and insight sessions and workshops on the opening “Industry Day” – arranged by the Kids Regio organisation. Here’s last year’s programme as an example. In light of the impending live action children’s TV tax break and the co-production interest that might inspire, it’s worth considering how to extend your project into the European market. The implications for marketing, branding and the practicalities of dubbing and dual-language shooting are all discussed on the Industry Day
Cardiff based producer Nia Ceidiog has attended the Financing Forum twice and found it invaluable each time:
I’ve found The Financing Forum an inspiring and interesting event offering an alternative perspective both on the co-production front and on content for children generally. Both times I returned full of ideas which have been fruitful. Added to that is the lovely city of Malmo and the friendliness of the event organisers and delegates.
Participating in The Financing Forum in Malmö was very valuable for our project ‘Sputnik’. This specialised event – one of the very rare events dedicated only to kids’ content – made a quite significant impact on the financing of our film.
Because of their long-standing relationship with CMC, the Financing Forum have extended the deadline for submissions for next March’s programme. UK producers have until 9pm on 16 December to get their entries in.
