BAFTA is offering the first chance to hear from brand new CBBC Controller, Cheryl Taylor

Date: Thursday 18th October

Venue: Q5’, Floor 5, BBC Quay House, MediaCityUK, M50 2QH

13:15: light lunch/tea/coffee available

14:00 – 15:15: Meet BBC Children’s

Your chance to hear from three of the biggest decision-makers in children’s television – the team responsible for BBC Children’s award-winning output on CBeebies and CBBC. Both channels are the most-loved and most-watched children’s channels for their respective age groups, commissioning and producing predominantly UK content for UK kids.

BBC Children’s moved to its new home in MediaCityUK in Salford in 2011, led by Director Joe Godwin, alongside CBeebies Controller Kay Benbow. Joining Joe and Kay on the panel is CBBC’s brand-new Controller Cheryl Taylor who has just moved across from her previous role as the BBC’s Controller for Comedy Commissioning. This will be the first opportunity to hear about her plans for the channel, as she settles into the new role.

The team will lay out their vision for the genre and their respective channels, share a commissioning wish list and offer hints and tips on what does and doesn’t work for them and their audience. Pose questions to the team and gain insights into where they think the future of children’s programming lies.
