The Action for Children’s Arts annual conference “National well-being, children and the arts” is taking place at the Unicorn Theatre, London, on 19 June.

ACA members can get in for £75 and non-members for £95
To book, call: 020 7645 0560

Speakers include Lynne Reid Banks (author), Dr Maggie Atkinson (Children’s Commissioner for England), Michael Morpurgo (author), Aileen Campbell MSP (Minister for Children & Young People, Scottish Government), Peter Duncan (actor and broadcaster) and Sharon Hodgson MP (Shadow Minister for Children & Families).

ACA has uncovered statistics which show that levels of public funding in the arts are far lower for children than for adults.

In the wake of successive reports, such as those from UNICEF, the Children’s Society, Barnardo’s and the Mothers’ Union, each raising concerns about the state of childhood in Britain today, the ACA conference will ask whether children should have a higher priority in the practice and policy of the UK’s arts funding bodies and flagship cultural organisations.
