Top Tips in Social Media Promotion
Jon Mason is the Director of Jollywise Media a Brighton-based award-winning interactive agency working for clients such as Disney, Universal Pictures, Spotify, Sony and Entertainment Film.
Jon was a member of the CMC/Creative Garden/UKTI mission to KidScreen in February 2012, and in one of those rash moments after a few New York beers, promised the delegation he’d share his top tips on using social media to promote an individual or company – particularly on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
Jon duly shared his White Paper with the group. It’s a brilliant “starter manual” for social media marketing.
Over the past three years there has been a huge growth in social media globally.
On Facebook there are more than 800 million active users and over 50% of those are logging in on any day. On YouTube over 800 million unique visitors per month view over 3 billion videos each day. On Twitter there are over 100 million users sharing 250 million tweets per day.
And all three are more connected than ever before. 500 tweets per minute contain a YouTube link. Each tweet results in an average of 6 new YouTube.com sessions and 150 years of YouTube videos are watched every day on Facebook.
