Leeds TV Club – Meet the BBC Children’s Commissioners
Monday 24 January 5.00 – 8.00pm, Mint Hotel/City Inn, Leeds. Click here for map
Yorkshire and North East based producers will be able to meet Kay and Damian on the same day, as they dash across the Pennines to Leeds for an evening TV Club event, hosted by Screen Yorkshire.
Following the success of two previous TV Club events featuring Richard Deverell (Chief Operating Officer, BBC Manchester Salford Quays) and the man who initiated the move of BBC departments to the North, former Director General, Greg Dyke, TV Club is now hosting two of the most influential people from the re-locating BBC Children’s department – CBeebies Controller, Kay Benbow and CBBC Controller, Damian Kavanagh. This an opportunity to meet the Commissioning Heads of BBC Children’s and find out what their vision is for the future of children’s programming, what they are looking for in terms of content provision, and how indies can engage with children’s programming at the BBC. Private one-to-one meetings with Kay and Damian will be available.
The TV Club continues to be partly funded and supported by Screen Yorkshire & Science City York. Previously events were free of charge, but as public funding has decreased, TV Club has had to introduce a minimal charge of £10.00 to cover the event’s organisational costs. Refreshments and catering are included in the ticket price.
