Event description: “More than twenty channels target young British eyes. Yet only one broadcaster – the BBC – is now producing original children’s programming in any volume. Joe Godwin is now the main person with a positive brief to serve young British viewers. What plans does he have? How will he square it with demands for cost-cutting at the BBC? How will he cope with the disruption of his department’s imminent move to Salford? The BBC has indicated that it will leave the provision of programmes for teenagers to Channel 4 – but should it?”
