Wednesday Workshops

Four pre-conference Wednesday Workshops are on offer this year:

Beyond the Pitch Show details »

‘Beyond the Pitch’ is a workshop which recognises that business success depends on more than just pitching. It offers an overview of the ‘7 Step Sales Framework’ in relation to content and product and will focus on 2 key steps to sales success, how you approach potential clients and the following stage that will dramatically change your business meetings forever. It explains how to develop deals, manage your financier through the project and even increase your chances of repeat business.
Facilitator: Mellissa Norman (media-sauce)

The Co-pro Clinic Show details »

The international Co-pro Clinic will provide delegates with everything they need to know about seeking out sources of funding, building a co- production deal, and managing multiple partners for a successful creative and business outcome. Following last year’s popular format the workshop will invite participants who feel ready to tender a project for development in the break-out teams. Participants without projects will also be welcomed into those teams to also experience the “hands on” process. A rage of experts in international content and editorial, legal and business affairs, distribution, licensing, and multi-territory production partnerships will give initial advice to the workshop and then work with the break-out teams. Pitch training will prepare each team for their moment of truth in front of an international commissioner panel, and the session will end with speed networking so that all participants can get direct personal advice from the experts.
Facilitators: Gary Pope (Kids Industries) & Sarah Baynes (The Creative Garden)

Monetising Digital Platforms Show details »

Focusing on revenue generation and the opportunities in cross-media exploitation, this workshop will offer case-studies of specific projects, and then examine how concepts can be developed with monetisation in mind.
Facilitators: Justin Judd, Peter Cowley
Presented in association with the Indie Training Fund

Crossover Kids and TechShow details »

The Crossover process brings people and companies together to generate innovative ideas and new partnerships. In this half-day lab, creative individuals are invited to develop new ideas around the theme of "making an impact" with kids and young people. The Lab will offer information on new technologies and software, and will culminate in some of the ideas generated being taken on by local digital agencies. The agencies will then work up the proposals into pitches to be presented at a special Conference session on the 2nd July to broadcasters, brand owners and funders for their comments on the best routes to market and monetisation.
Facilitator: Frank Boyd (Crossover Labs)

When you sign up to register you will be invited to choose one pre-conference Workshop if you wish. You can swap Workshops at a later date if you want to.

There is a fee of £12.95 + VAT per workshop – a booking fee which covers the additional lunch and refreshments. The Workshops begin at 1 pm on Wednesday afternoon and last 4 hours.

Our famous Wednesday night supper at Pizza Express

After last year’s great success of our first Pizza Express supper we have booked the whole restaurant again and can offer a set menu to delegates, which can be pre-booked in advance.

Appropriately enough, it’s going to be a bit like a kids’ birthday party. A selection of starters and pizza slices will come to your table as soon as they are ready from the oven; so you will be able to try a variety of different dishes from the list. Vegetarian options are included in the selection.
