Ian Prince is a multi-award winning executive producer, film-maker and journalist who has worked across news, factual, children’s tv and international media development. Ian’s children’s expertise includes ‘Blue Peter’, and ‘Newsround’, where he was editor for several years. During this time ‘Newsround’ became the most watched children’s programme in the UK as well as achieving the highest AIs (by far!) within CBBC. He launched new strands and services, and among many awards won a BBC interactive award for the brand with the most creative interactive relationship with its audience. He’s also developed and launched new cookery and youth strands for the international BBC Persian Channel.
His most recent projects have been to develop and train a multiplatform team in Bangladesh to deliver a BBC overseas youth programme, directed films for a charity, he’s been writing and reporting for ‘First News’ the award winning Children’s newspaper, produced senior management events at the BBC, overseen a series of films for an international leaning series as well as developing ideas for a major indy.
Ian has won several awards, including two BAFTAs, and also gained a nomination for a third.
