FUN CMC: The Official CMC Party

When: Wednesday 5th July, 10pm
Where: The Plug Sheffield

Pre conference disco naps taken care of, FUN CMC, the Official CMC Party took pace on the Wednesday Night. This lively, popular wing-ding was FREE ENTRY to all registered delegates and volunteers (over 18s only and please note that the venue staff may require proof of age ID.)

Once again Fun Crew were our dedicated DJ co-hosts welcomed everyone to the party along with Finger Industries and this year’s fantastic sponsors, The Beano. Aptly (with a nod to The Bash Street Kids) we returned to Plug, one of the north’s top club venues, conveniently situated a short disco-strut from CMC central and a great setting for the social highlight of the conference.

FUN CMC proves that children’s media folk are the friendliest, most inclusive and downright grooviest of people it’s a pleasure to meet!

Inside, Fun Crew’s Angela Salt and Stuart Harrison ensured that the party rocks until 3am aided and abetted by DJ Andrew Harrison.
Andrew presents the BIGMOUTH pop culture podcast, writes for The Guardian, Esquire and the New Statesman, and DJs at North London’s least reputable grown-up rave-up, SPENT. He says “The FUN CMC Party is always a corker and we’re looking forward to playing eclectic floor-fillers from Chic to The Clash and De La Soul to Disclosure.”

Stu promised “A wicked playlist! Something for everyone with classic pop, indie, house, electro, disco, hip-hop, northern soul and rock and roll – and that’s just for starters!”

Ange oversaw the annual prize-winning dance-off, with the winners getting a bottle of the finest gin by throwing their best shapes!

Finger Industries were back by popular demand with adult face-painting fun (yes, it’s a thing!) with sparkle and shimmer. And no CMC party would be complete without karaoke – so OK, that came back too.

FUN CMC – A great night out in a brilliant conference!                                   Sponsored by
