What are the dates of the Children’s Media Conference?
The conference runs from Wednesday 2 July to Friday 4 July 2014
Where is the conference held?
The main conference venue is the Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, Sheffield S1 2BX UK. Registration is at the Workstation, Paternoster Row, Sheffield S1 2BX UK.
How can I register?
Registration is online. You will receive automatic confirmation by email from the online booking service.
How can I pay?
Our registration system will automatically take you to PayPal to pay. PayPal accepts: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, echeck, and PayPal accounts.
If you can’t pay by credit/ debit card, please contact the conference office for alternative payment options: contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com.
Your credit card statement will show payment made to The CMC.
When should I pay for the conference?
You will need to be ready to pay when you register online. Registration is complete only when payment is received in full.
How much does it cost to attend the conference?
Full Corporate Rate
£340 + VAT. Available up until the conference.
ACA/Animated Women/ BAFTA/ Byte the Book/ Directors UK/ Game Based Learning/ Games Republic/ LEGUp/ LIMA/ PACT/ Publishers Association/ SYFN/ TIGA/ UKIE / Not-For-Profit Rate
£255 + VAT. Available up until the conference. Please provide your promotion code.
Under 30s, Self-funded Delegates & Students Rate
£190 + VAT. This pass is intended for Under 30s, freelancers, researchers, small Indies (with 2 employees or fewer), and students. A limited number are available, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Once you have registered, you will be asked for proof of status. This discounted registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Pizza Night
£23 + VAT. Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. You can add the cost of the Pizza Express Thursday night supper to your conference
registration fee when you register.
The Wednesday Workshops
£30 + VAT. You can add the workshop booking fee to your conference registration fee when you register.
The International Exchange
£35 + VAT. You can add the International Exchange booking fee to your conference registration fee when you register. 
I’m having problems with the online registration system. What should I do?

When is the last date I can register?
You are able to register for the conference up to and including the conference itself. All tickets have limited availability, and some will sell out well in advance of the conference especially the Self-funded pass, Pizza Night, and The Wednesday Workshops.
So you are advised to book up as soon as possible.
Do you offer a group discount?

Rate £255 + VAT
This pass requires you to be a member of one of these associations or working for a not-for-profit institution. Contact your association to request the discount code so you can buy your discounted pass. I have not received a confirmation email, what should I do?
First – check your email spam and junk mail folders. If it is still not found, please contact the Conference Office at contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com.
Can I buy a day pass?
No, unfortunately we do not offer day passes for the conference. The Wednesday Workshop and International Exchange Ticket is an additional pass for fully registered delegates only.
How can I get a copy of my VAT receipt?
Please email the conference office at contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com and we will send you a VAT receipt. Please allow five days for delivery.
What’s included in the delegates pass?
A delegate’s badge, which allows you to attend and participate in the conference.
Access to all sessions on Thursday and Friday. Some sessions will be busy and, as we operate on a first come, first served basis, remember to get to sessions in time.
Access to the Wednesday Evening Keynote and Thursday Evening Keynote.
Your listing in the delegates list online and in the delegates list which is available at the conference.
The Delegates’ Guide and Folder.
Access to Marketing Sheffield services including hotel booking. Accommodation and travel have to be paid extra.
Free wifi in the Showroom Bar and the Workstation; free wifi in the HUBs (password needed in the HUBs).
Access to the HUBs networking and seating areas.As well as the following meals and refreshments for all participants:
The Wednesday evening opening reception.
The Thursday night party in the HUBs
2 lunches (on Thursday and Friday)
Break-time teas and coffees on Thursday and Friday.
How do I get my badge?
You can collect your badge from the Delegates’ Registration Desk in the Workstation, Paternoster Row.
The opening times are:
Wednesday 2 July 8am–8pm
Thursday 3 July 8.30am–7pm
Friday 4 July 8.30am–7pm
To collect your delegate badge you will need to bring a copy of your confirmation e-mail.
I’ve got a Press Pass. How do I get my badge?
You can collect your badge from the Delegates Registration Desk in the Workstation, Paternoster Row. Please bring your confirmation email with you.
What should I do if I lose my delegate badge at the conference?
Please go to the Registration Desk to ask for a replacement. Please note there is a lost badge fee of £25.00.
Do I need to collect my delegate badge before I attend a session?
Yes, delegate badges must be collected from the Registration Desk on arrival at the conference and entrance to all sessions requires a valid delegate badge.
Do I need to bring my badge to social events?
Yes, you are required to wear your delegate badge during the conference including all conference social events.
I registered for the conference, but now can’t attend. Can I send someone in my place?
Delegates can reassign their pass to another person at no extra cost. Email contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com with your information and the person to whom you wish to reassign your pass.
If you’re sending an email, please include the following details: name and title of the attendee taking your pass; their job title, direct phone number; email address; company details (name, address, website and phone).
Please note that the Under 30s, Self-funded & Students Pass is non-refundable and non-transferable.
I registered for the conference, but now can’t attend. Can I get a refund?
Delegates are eligible for a free refund; cancellations must be made in writing to contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com.
Where can I put my luggage?
We have a secure cloakroom and luggage check conveniently situated in the Workstation. The opening times are:
Wednesday 2 July 8am–8pm
Thursday 3 July 8.30am–7pm
Friday 4 July 8.30am–7pm
When is the conference programme available?
The conference programme is published online in May and is constantly updated. To keep up with our latest news sign up to our e-bulletin on the homepage.

You will be given the official printed conference Guide when you collect your delegate badge.
Can I suggest a topic or speaker for the conference?
We are happy to have your suggestions, up to early May. If you would like to suggest a topic or speaker for the conference, please contact Greg Childs, Editorial Director at greg@thechildrensmediaconference.com.The Advisory Committee is responsible for the editorial direction of the conference; they will discuss ideas suggested to them in the context of the theme and editorial direction of the conference programme.

Can I bring a guest to a social event?
No, unfortunately official conference social events are only available to paying delegates.
How can I find out who else is attending the conference?
An official delegate list is available online. We also provide an official Delegate List when you get to the conference. You are free to join The Children’s Media Conference Linked In Group at any time, where you can make contact with past and current attendees.
Where can I find your privacy policy?
Our Privacy Policy is available on this website If you have any further questions about our policy, please contact us at contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com.
Will you share my details with any third parties?
Delegates who register for the CMC International Exchange will have their contact information shared with UK Trade and Investment, who are supporting it.
Otherwise, we will not provide your personal information to others unless you have given us your permission. With your permission we will only share the information with carefully chosen, reputable and trustworthy third parties.
When you register you have the option to choose your mailing preferences, including third party mailings.
If someone books for you, for instance your assistant, they have the option to choose mailing preferences on your behalf.
How can I update my mailing preferences?
If you would like to check your mailing preferences, including third party details, please contact the conference office.
You can unsubscribe at any time from the conference e-list or the mail list by emailing contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com.
How can I sponsor at the conference?

Booking Terms and Conditions

Booking Conditions
An automatic confirmation email will be sent on receipt of your booking. If you do not receive this, please check your Spam folder or Junk Mail. Registration is valid only with a completed registration form. Delegates are not considered registered until full payment is received. Please complete one form per person. All payments in pounds sterling only.

Cancellation and Refunds
Delegates are eligible for a free refund; cancellations must be made in writing to contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com. However, the Under 30s, Self-funded & Students Pass is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Transfers
Delegates can reassign their pass to another person at no extra cost. Email contact@thechildrensmediaconference.com with your information and the person to whom you wish to reassign your pass. The Under 30s, Self-funded & Students Pass is non-transferable.

Discounted Rate Eligibility
If an application for our discounted rates is found to be incorrect or misleading at the time of booking, delegates will be required to pay the Full Corporate Rate.

Payment Methods
The conference uses Pay Pal to process payment. The following payment methods are accepted by PayPal: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, echeck, and PayPal.

Your credit card statement will show payment made to The CMC.
Alternative payment methods are available.

Waiver
The Children’s Media Conference Limited reserves the right to change the programme and venues and assumes no liability for the changes.

The Children’s Media Conference Limited is not able to offer refunds for cancellations arising from events outside its control and accepts no responsibility for covering airfare, hotel or other costs incurred by registrants, including delegates, sponsors, speakers and guests.

Acts outside of either the Registrant’s or The Children’s Media Conference Limited’s control include, but are not limited to, acts of terrorism or threats of any such acts, any strike action, lock-outs or other industrial action and a pandemic, epidemic or other widespread illness, and disruptions owing to volcanic activity.

When registering for The Children’s Media Conference, the participants acknowledge and undertake to respect the regulations stipulated above.
